Ex-Im (Export Import) Bank, the
official export credit agency of the US Government, has created a
special program for small business exporters with the resources to offer
the most attractive financing possible to their foreign customers. The
ability to offer financing or credit terms is often the most critical
factor in increasing export sales. Foreign buyers often expect the U.S.
supplier to offer "open account" or unsecured extended payment terms
rather than pay by letters of credit, which can be very expensive, or

The SBA's Export Working
Capital Program (EWCP) provides short-term working capital to
exporters. It supports export financing to small businesses when that
financing is not otherwise available on reasonable terms. The program
encourages lenders to offer export working capital loans by guaranteeing
repayment of up to $1 million or 90 percent of a loan amount, whichever
is less. A loan can support a single transaction or multiple sales on a
revolving basis. |
